Swamis Surfing Association General Meeting Tuesday January 10th 2012 7:00pm

Meeting Grub:

The meeting will be at our new location, Yogi’s Bar and Grill located on HWY 101, just south of Cardiff Reef. Parking is available at Yogi’s and next door at the Plastino Building. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Yogi’s. Yogi’s has been a SSA sponsor for several years and we are thankful to them for offering their business to us, free of charge, to hold our general meetings.

Things to come CALENDAR OF EVENTS:

The next Coalition Surf Event will be The Doheny (DLSA) Gathering of the Tribes at Churches in San-O- January 7-8. If anyone is interested in surfing the event please contact myself @ 760-945-8234 or Eric Klockenteger @ 760-285-0200 entry fees will be $80 & $50 if paid before Christmas

The Swamis meeting will be held January 10th @ 7:00 Tuesday. Be there or be square.

We will be voting on the new Bylaw changes, which were handed out at the November meeting this year. The Board meeting will be January 3rd at 7:00 as of where, that will be it will be announced.

One last thing-The Polar Surf @ Swamis 7-8:00am January 1st starts out the New Year right. This is a good chance to Polarize your Surfing. I would like to thank the whole Swamis Board and Eric Klockenteger, Sean Tully, Ben Pratt, and others for such a great year.

Hello to everyone @ Swami’s. Have a Happy Christmas & Merry New Year. Our weather is what San Diego is all about this time of year, pretty unreal. Where else could you have, a dry cold Santa Ana, glassy conditions and great little waves for almost a month, nowhere else, except here. Well that’s what it’s like in the city of the Poinsettias during Christmas time. For those who didn’t make it to the Christmas party what a great evening they missed. Food with friends and a good time. The band (Coastal Eddy) was excellent. It was a real treat with Mark Adams on the harmonica and Coastal Eddy clearing the fog. Mike Emerson and Bruce St Jean were killing it on the dance floor. I would like to thank Roger and Jody Collins, Bruce and Sharon St Jean and Marcello and Dawn for making the Party a great success, it wouldn’t have happened without them.

The Wind and Sea Surf Event at La Jolla Shores was just about perfect. The waves were waist to shoulder high with real good form, kind of glassy all day, with a slight wind. Mike Emerson took 1st in men’s and Jim Phillips got 3rd in the Legends. Swamis took 6th over all. I got to enjoy the event with the RQR’s on the judges stand both days and had a great time. The food was really good and I had the best hamburger I have ever had at Hennessey’s in La Jolla. Thank you W&S for the great time and fun.
